What to Expect From The Results – Now and Later

Satisfaction with your new image should continue to grow as you fully recover from breast implants surgery. In order to attain ideal breast augmentation results, it is necessary for you to follow your plastic surgeon’s post-operative instructions and keep all follow-up appointments.
Breast Implant removal or Replacement
It’s important to understand that all the different types of implants are not designed to be permanent. At some point in your lifetime, you will probably face implant removal. At this time you may choose to replace your implant depending on the reason for the removal.
Your plastic surgeon will encourage you to schedule annual exams to keep up with your overall breast health and the status of your saline implants or silicone breast implants. Many changes can occur to your saline or silicone gel implants after breast augmentation surgery that warrants the removal or replacement of an implant. Issues such as infection within the breast tissue, rupture shifting or capsular contracture will likely require additional surgeries to remove or replace an implant.
If you choose to remove an implant(s) you may experience permanent and unfavorable side effects which include wrinkling dimpling and puckering of the breast.
Mammograms & Diagnostic Testing for breast cancer
Sometimes calcium deposits will be present on mammograms and require further testing to rule out breast cancer. Calcium deposits usually can’t be accurately diagnosed without a biopsy of the breast. This procedure may require the removal of the breast implant for an accurate diagnosis.
Natural Breast Changes after Breast Augmentation
Aging, weight loss, menopause, hormones, and gravity itself can affect the appearance of your breasts after implants. If, over a period of time you are unhappy with how these changes have affected your breasts you may decide to have a breast lift or implant replacement to regain the youthful appearance you had before.
