Dr. Vijay discusses avoiding too many simple sugars that can lead to undesireable health consequences. Eating a lot of simple sugars raises insulin levels which can lead to insulin resistance, which causes diabetes. Consuming too many complex carbohydrates can have the same negative health consequences. Simple sugar consumption can also lead to tooth decay. The best advise is to consume sugar in moderation.
